The Sudbury Community Food Pantry would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing young people who showed up to support the Pantry in 2025. Your time, energy, and generosity make a real difference in our community.
We were honored to present the following groups/individual with a Youth Service Award:

Alina Janigian is an LS student who has run multiple successful food drives during the 4th of July and Thanksgiving road races. She has also coordinated the donation of girl scout cookies to the Pantry (a particularly popular treat for our families).

The 3rd and 5th graders at Peter Noyes Elementary delivered a huge supply of “meal in a bag” kits. There were breakfast bags that included pancake mix, syrup, and oil as well as dinner bags that had pasta, sauce, and parmesan cheese. A full meal in one bag was much appreciated!

Wayland Brownie Troop #84375 ran a very successful food drive during last year’s SNAP crisis at time when our families needed extra assistance. They answered the call and helped those experiencing food insecurity!
When asked about the importance of youth service in fulfilling the Pantry’s mission, Executive Director John Thomas said, “We’re incredibly proud of these young people and the energy and thoughtfulness they bring to our work. Their contributions make a real difference, not just in what they collect or organize, but in the sense of community they help build. Connecting students to our mission through outreach and education is a big part of what we do – it’s important for people to be able to see the impact they’re making.
We’re fortunate to partner with all four Sudbury elementary schools through monthly food drives and to work with Curtis Middle School through the Civic Action Project and Curtis Angels, as well as Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School through the REACH Program and the LS Food Pantry Club. These relationships give students meaningful opportunities to get involved and support their neighbors.”
To all those who volunteered, donated, or helped spread the word, you proved that compassion and kindness are alive and well in the next generation. We’re so grateful for your commitment to helping neighbors in need. Keep up the incredible work—you’re inspiring all of us!
